The Health & Wellness Director will be responsible for all facets of the health and wellness programs for the YMCA. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision and direct involvement of group exercise classes, wellness appointments & programs, active older adult programs, personal training, etc. All programs will be conducted within the framework of policies and procedures established by the Division’s Board of Management.
- Oversee planning, development and delivery of the Health and Wellness Programs.
- Coordinate and provide leadership for the advancement of Activate America and strategic direction of Kent County YMCA.
- Recruit, train and supervise engaged personnel in all programs.
- Maintain necessary statistical data and reports.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers for committees, programs and the YFA Campaign.
- Work harmoniously as a team member.
- Ensure that schedules for programs and activities are planned and communicated in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain the highest quality of staff, through on-going staff training and evaluations.
- Provide leadership on behalf of the Activate America Initiative at Kent County.
- Provide managerial oversight for all department budgets and ensure that the financial health of the YMCA is supported by appropriate decision making.
- Maintain appropriate certifications such as CPR, First Aid and Instructor Levels as related.
- Work to ensure a risk free environment, ie-caution regarding unsafe practices and conditions. Report accidents and injuries and complete incident reports.
- Provide leadership to the development of new programs that can foster active participation by the Health Seeker Audience.

Language Skills:
- Trained and well versed in Listen First, Support Change and Build Community Techniques would be desirable.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before members or employees of the Association and the public is required.
- Bilingual ability is a significant asset.

Salary: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00
