The Finance/Accounting Assistant II provides administrative finance/accounting support for a business unit or department.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Finance/Accounting Assistant II provides a variety of routine and non-routine finance and accounting-related tasks for a department or business unit. Duties may include payment of invoices, preparation and processing of accounting forms such as journal entries, verifying the accuracy and coding of journal entry transactions, maintenance of A/P, general ledger and vendor payments, and similar tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Ensures TNC policies and procedures are met.
  • Ensures TNC policies and procedures are met. Approve payments in Concur on biweekly basis (Argentina, Chile and Bolivia)
  • Review Bank reconciliations prepared by local accounting vendors and report to the Headquarter (Argentina, Chile and Bolivia)
  • Prepare financial reports for Conservation Managers on monthly basis
  • Control payroll report for 3 countries (Argentina, Chile, Bolivia)
  • Prepare Accounts Payable and other adjustments
  • Cost assignment of private donations in the system
  • Review the local taxes prepared by local accounting vendors (Argentina, Chile, Bolivia)
  • Analyze translation effects in the system.
  • Analyze temporary restricted negative balances in the system.
Educational Background: 
Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field and 2 years' related work experience or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in database management or producing reports, or in the use of automated systems or touch key calculator.
  • Experience working with basic principles in accounting or in analyzing financial figures
  • Proficiency in English is required (oral, reading and writing)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated. 
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in work product.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
