The Y in Central Maryland is looking for a Sports and Teen Experience Director at the Y in Greater Annapolis (Arnold).

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission: As a Y Sports & Teen Experience Director, you will be responsible for the daily administration and operations focused around Teen Experience (ages 12- 19 years old) and Sports Products within a Y wellness center.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • You’ll be responsible for ensuring quality programming that leads to membership development, retention and engagement.
  • You will lead daily operations including associate hiring, supervision and development, support fiscal control, program development, program area facility management/maintenance, program optimization and fulfillment, and volunteer development.
  • As a Y Sports & Teen Experience Director, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging
Educational Background: 
A bachelor’s degree in in a youth-related field or Sports Management/ Recreation/Health Sciences (preferred)
Skills/Experience: 

This work is right for you if you have:

  • A love of youth and family
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
  • Prior experience developing and implementing sports, teen and/or youth & family programming in a 2,500+ unit YMCA or similar organization
  • Prior experience acquiring, developing, and implementing off-site programs
  • At least two years of prior experience supervising others
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as well a flexible schedule
  • Reached the 21 years of age
