Under the supervision of the Chief Social Responsibility Officer (CSRO) and working in concert with the Social Responsibility Team, the Project Manager is responsible for the management, coordination and general oversight of social responsibility projects in the areas of volunteerism, diversity & inclusion (D&I), advocacy and community strengthening.

The role of the Project Manager is to support the team by designing and managing the logistics of several key projects, systems and initiatives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Work with corporations and individuals on the coordination and delivery of volunteer experiences.  This includes creating and communicating volunteer experience logistics, informing all stakeholders in a timely fashion, participating in and/or inspecting the volunteer experiences, and following-up post the experience. 
  • Conduct monthly check-in for volunteer leads at each center/in each product area and host quarterly volunteer lead huddles.  Work with ED of Volunteerism and Community Engagement and center product to ensure lead position remains filled.
  • Host monthly new associate volunteer orientation.
  • Maintain the VolunteerMatters database inclusive of training, updates, reports and e-blasts to volunteers. Maintain other online volunteer hub resources and updates.
  • Maintain log of association in-kind donations. 
  • Oversee the implementation of volunteer recognition forum for regularly highlighting and recognizing our volunteers. 
  • Manage and update all regional D&I action plans.
  • Track and refresh D&I statistics by region.
  • Coordinate D&I committee meetings including but not limited to scheduling, meeting minutes and follow-up.
  • Research D&I-related community initiatives and potential partnerships.
  • Maintain log of social responsibility experiences (i.e., volunteer, D&I, advocacy, and community events) inclusive of pictures, testimonials, and toolkits.
  • Maintain all social responsibility systems such as the dashboard, the communication forum, resource library and all community partner agreements.
  • Highlight social responsibility initiatives on Y Associate Workplace and other appropriate social media forums.
  • Provide support for association-wide social responsibility initiatives (e.g., Read Week, Veterans’ Drive, Voter Registration, Giving Tree, etc…).
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of three years of experience in project management and coordination
  • Prior experience with any/all of the social responsibility disciplines preferred
  • Prior experience in Y operations or an organization with similar scope and scale preferred
  • Proven experience working with a variety of stakeholders inclusive of youth, seniors, internal leaders and community based organizations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively facilitate meetings with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate a true passion for and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, community engagement and the criticality of social responsibility work
