The Director of Talent Acquisition is accountable for building and leading a small team to attract and hire the right people to support and execute the Y mission and strategy. This position will have full accountability for recruiting strategy development and execution, team leadership and recruiting goal achievement for the Y. The Director, Talent Acquisition will also operate as a key Human Resource leader and reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Contribute to the Y’s overall recruiting vision, mission, and long-term strategy as a member of the Human Resources leadership team.
  • Partner with the Y leaders and Human Resources Business Partners to develop and lead the acquisition arm of the Y’s talent strategy. S/he will identify opportunities/gaps and focus on acquiring diverse talent to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Build and manage a small team of recruiters, including both contract and full-time employees. Manage resources to ensure optimal, appropriate coverage during peak as well as slower times.
  • Experiment and take risks to drive innovative and creative solutions.
  • Provide direction and consultation on emerging trends impacting and influencing attraction and acquisition within critical talent segments.
  • Deliver on-going reports that track results, impact, and cost-effectiveness of team. Use the information to detect trends/insights and adjust the strategy to optimize the impact of the team.
  • Work cross-functionally in HR to provide input to other programs impacting the organization including – but not limited to – on boarding, career pathing, internal movement, training, etc.
  • Attract, nurture, develop, and retain top recruiting talent
  • Resonate with the Mission and purpose of the Y.
Educational Background: 
Bachelors in Human Resources or related field. PHR preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Six (6) – ten (10) years of recruiting experience, with at least two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in social media recruiting.
  • State-of-the-art recruiting knowledge and skills.
