The Program Manager, Site Based Mentor is responsible for managing high-level customer service throughout the effective implementation of the volunteer and child enrollment and matching process in all site based programs. Works closely with the Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Y management team in the development of new partners and programs, manage volunteer recruitment strategies and ensures team is fostering positive partner relationships, creating a strong sense of affiliation to Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Y. Manages site based match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers; responsible for supervision of site based specialists. The Program Manager, Site Based Mentoring demonstrates a commitment to the Y in Central Maryland’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Manages and coordinates program planning and implementation with school and corporate partners.
- Utilizes originality and entrepreneurial mindset and skills to create and sustain robust site based programs.
- Create and manage site based program budget with fidelity.
- Has the authority to develop written agreements with partners to memorialize roles, responsibilities and processes for site based programs.
- Investigates potential partnership relationships as discovered through volunteers, parents, employers, and affiliations and is responsible for leading business development and philanthropic efforts proactively and continuously.
- Oversees team of site-based program specialists who coordinate and conduct volunteer recruitment and orientation with business partners; conducts volunteer and client enrollments and provides timely and comprehensive recommendations for participation in the program based upon assessments of the individual volunteer.
- Evaluates and maintains an understanding of child safety standards, match relationship development, positive youth development, and internal/external stakeholder satisfaction. Identifies potential challenges and barriers, based on predictive indicators, and develops and enacts appropriate mitigating interventions.
- Ensures associates have high level proficiency in applying child safety standards and risk management protocols, policies and procedures throughout all aspects of programming.
- Reviews associate efforts concerning allocating match support time, supporting volunteers on site as often as possible (including telephone and electronic contact), and identification of activities that can introduce and foster the relationship between child and volunteer
- Ensures that summaries of all contacts are timely, comprehensive and meets Y in Central Maryland and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America standards.
- Establishes and monitors goals for match length and customer satisfaction. Appraises the effects of the team goals on positive youth development.
- Maintains an understanding of the work of direct reports, and may participate in the job function of site based specialists as necessary.
- Corresponds with other service delivery associates to ensure smooth transition among functions.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of full-time work experience in human service or related field.
- A minimum of at least one year of supervisory experience or one year experience with a BBBSA member agency.
- Demonstrated experience working with both child and adult populations; relationship and partnership development; assessment, intake or interview skills; understanding of child development preferred.
- Specific assessment, intake or interview experience preferred.
- Demonstrated marketing or sales experience.

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00
