Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, in conjunction with the Metro program cabinets, the Senior Director plans, administers and evaluates the program experience. This includes staff supervision, training and development, program sales and service and database management and a program budget of $2 million.
The focus for the Senior Director will be to evaluate youth programs, develop the youth development team with a focus on program quality and customer service in a friendly and welcoming environment. Additionally, this position will assist the branch staff team in positioning the YMCA to “Strengthen the Foundations of Community” in the area. The Senior Director will support directors in staffing decisions related to program quality and member service.
This position is responsible for the design and implementation of the branch program plans and program marketing plans and is responsible for the success of the branch revenue targets related to programs. This position plays a key role in the success of the member experience including acquisition, orientation and retention and helps to facilitate philanthropy. This position also plans and administers Family and Member events and is responsible for the social media for the branch. This position also supervises the Aquatic, Family, Camp and Teen and Preschool Program Directors.
The Carl E. Sanders Family YMCA is located in Atlanta, GA in the Buckhead community. The newly renovated facility is in the city of Atlanta and serves areas including but not limited to Buckhead, Smyrna, and Bolton/Bankhead communities.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, evaluate and recognize the program departments, employees and volunteers.
- Develop and implement a branch marketing and program communication plan. This will include, in conjunction with the Metro marketing department, website and social media.
- Conduct surveys, focus groups and uses other evaluation and feedback techniques. Evaluate and change programs and services as appropriate, solving problems and answering member and participant concerns.
- Participate and assist in leading Advisory Board committees as assigned.
- Develop and coordinate staff training and cross-training to create a member-centered service concept deep in the branch organization.
- Serve as a key staff to annual fundraising campaign, provides leadership to a Program Team.
- Supervise the Family, Camp and Teen, Preschool, and Aquatic Director.
- Create and manage Program communication.
- In collaboration with team, ensure branch is represented in all Association Program Cabinets.
- Key member of the leadership team for at the branch and commits to staff and branch cohesiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Three or more years of experience as a program director developing, delivering, and managing successful programming and expertise in program development.
- Must have a background in staff team development and relationship management.
- Seeks, cultivates and supervises volunteers and staff.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and desire to be of service to the community and members of the Y.
- Hands on experience with utilizing data to make informed decisions.
- Personal commitment to service and hospitality.
- Working knowledge of computer based software programs such as but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.
