Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Membership Experience Director will plan, administer and evaluate the membership department and supervise staff.  The Membership Experience Director leads branch membership staff in attracting, engaging and retaining members.   This position is primarily responsible for the design and implementation of branch membership acquisition, member experience and for the successful achievement of above average member net goal, NPS and meeting or exceeding budget.  Also, this position will play a key role in delivering youth and family programming and community initiatives.

The Forsyth County Family YMCA is a 50,000-square foot facility located in the heart of Vickery Village in Cumming, GA presently serving 2800 member units along with programs in aquatics, youth sports, health & wellness, family program and more.  Forsyth County is one of the fastest growing counties in the country. By 2022, an additional 10,000 individuals will live within a five-mile radius of the YMCA. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the member experience department and employees and volunteers.
  • Develop and implement a plan to attract and recruit new members and corporate partnerships.
  • Conduct pilots for new member engagement programs; develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the staff team. 
  • Effectively manage budgets; hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.
  • Foster a climate of innovation.
  • Monitor progress towards branch’s goals by running and reviewing all necessary reports. 
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to the Executive Director on related issues.
  • Collaborate with the association key departments to lead, coordinate and support implementation of key initiatives related to marketing, social media and communications, human resources and financial development.
  • Serves as a staff leader to the annual fundraising campaign “Why It Matters”
  • Provide leadership to the branch board membership committee.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor’s degree required in business or related field required. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Four (4) or more years related sales, direct client experience, training and development of high performing teams, fiscal management and processing and tracking in a sales data base similar to SPIRIT.
  • Must have a background in staff team development and relationship management.
  • Seeks, cultivates and supervises volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Hands on experience with utilizing data to make informed decisions.
  • Personal commitment to service and hospitality.
  • If internal to the YMCA, must have a minimum of YMCA Team Leaders certification.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $55,000.00
