As the Associate of Alumni Engagement you will support our team’s efforts in mobilizing our alumni towards systemic change in Metro Atlanta. You will be responsible for the execution of managing our communication channels, leading large and small scale event execution, and the management of our data and operations systems. You have a passion for managing projects and systems to ambitious outcomes and excitement for supporting others to meet their goals. The Associate will report directly to the Managing Director of Alumni Engagement. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Alumni Communications Execution (25%)

  • Design and execute a monthly alumni newsletter and maintain updated mailing list for alumni community in Metro Atlanta
  • Manage and execute on all team social media directed towards the alumni community
  • Execute on regular updates to the Teach For America Metro Atlanta website
  • Manage content and users on the TFA Connect job platform
  • Identify opportunities to reach our alumni base more effectively

Data Systems Execution (25%)

  • Manage TFACT, the internal Teach For America data tracking system, to deliver accurate alumni data for team and region
  • Manage and track alumni engagement levels connected to team goals and regional dashboard
  • Manage, track and organize the team-wide budget
  • Manage and execute the tracking of alumni talent matching for team goals and regional dashboard
  • Lead our team in finding ways to optimize our data systems

Event Execution (30%)

  • Execute on all logistics and operations supports for all alumni team events, but primarily those focused on our convening and civic engagement strategy

Special Project Creation & Execution (5%)

  • Create and execute a plan to engage alumni new to Atlanta and to bring them into our community

Regional/National Responsibilities (15%)

  • Support, attend, and/or participate in regional team activities, including regular staff meetings and retreats
  • Participate in corps member selection and matriculation
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience managing data and/or tracking systems required
  • 2+ years of work experience preferred
  • Experience in event logistics preferred
  • Experience in communication preferred
  • Experience in education or non-profit sector preferred

Technical Skills

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ideal candidates also have experience working with web interfaces and uploading web content, or using intranet
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with / interest in utilizing a variety of software and technology products such that s/he may act as team liaison when new tools are available throughout the organization.
