AARP is helping the 50+ population and their families live their best lives and we are looking for an advocacy intern who can contribute to this goal and mission through engagement and meaningful work. The AARP Georgia State Office, located in Midtown Atlanta, is seeking a paid, undergraduate-level intern 20-25 hours per week to assist with advocacy efforts. This is a tremendous opportunity in a small but fast-paced office to gain firsthand experience with state lobbying of elected officials, events planning and advocacy strategy. This position will report to the Advocacy Manager and have frequent interactions with other Georgia State Office staff and volunteers.
Provide assistance with:
- State and local advocacy-focused events
- Weekly newsletter content and design
- Outreach to elected officials and community stakeholders
- Research projects
- Social media
- Additional events as required.
- Must possess superior organizational skills, ability to problem solve and multi-task, must be a self-starter
