The Nature Conservancy’s GLOBE (Growing Leaders on Behalf of the Environment) summer internship program hires undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent college graduates (2017, 2018, and 2019) to fill paid internship positions during a 10-week summer internship. These positions are available throughout the United States and provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and real-world conservation work. The program recruits individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences who are interested in contributing to our conservation goals in various fields. We offer a structured orientation, professional training, network opportunities, mentoring program, and real work experience.
As part of the Cash Receipting team at The Nature Conservancy’s Worldwide Office (Arlington, VA headquarters), the Treasury Specialist GLOBE intern will support the organization’s global cash receipting processes through transaction and adjustment entry, account monitoring and reconciliation, and audit support. The intern works as a member of a team processing centrally received receipts and plays a lead role answering questions and resolving problems related to cash and revenue entries. The intern actively uses the organization’s financial system, fundraising system, and Excel in daily work and must be technologically savvy and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Our Cash Receipting team has several projects (adjustments, mobile pay, etc.) queued up for fiscal year 2019, depending on when these projects get started the Treasury Specialist GLOBE intern will be assisting with testing, documenting processes/procedures, etc.
This will be a great opportunity for the intern to see firsthand the volume of transactions we receive at the Worldwide Office during our year end. The intern will learn how TNC works with all business units to ensure books are closed and all receipts have been accounted for throughout the organization.
