The Talent Sourcing Specialist supports TNC Recruiters in their efforts to source diverse talent in mid to senior level positions throughout the Conservancy. Duties include posting advertisements, researching, and sourcing prospective applicants. The Talent Sourcing Specialist implements targeted sourcing initiatives, leverages social networking sites and uses other recruitment tools and techniques to find passive and diverse talent. This individual is an integral part of the Talent Acquisition team and is instrumental in helping to develop a pipeline of qualified individuals for the future and in providing diverse candidate pools to fill current vacancies.
Partners with TNC Recruiters in sourcing passive talent, screening and evaluating applicants, and in maintaining a pipeline of qualified, diverse candidates across the organization for select and difficult-to-fill mid-to senior-level positions. A strong candidate for this position will demonstrate the ability to do more than simple name generation, but rather will identify and target potential applicants for adequate experience and qualifications (finding the needle in the haystack). They will leverage their experience in building talent pools, identifying potential candidates, and using cost-effective sourcing techniques to attract qualified applicants. They employ sourcing and data mining methods, including Boolean searches, a variety of search engines, internal sourcing, and external job board searches. They engage in internal “kick-off” calls with hiring managers and Recruiters, screen resumes, may be requested to complete phone screen assessments, and assist in daily recruiting project management. The Talent Sourcing Specialist builds relationships with professional associations as well as using social networking sites such as LinkedIn. The Talent Sourcing Specialist reports to the Talent Knowledge Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Partner with Recruiters to understand hiring needs, priorities, and timing.
- Post online ads. Join diversity LinkedIn and other recruiting job posting groups in order to share vacancy announcements.
- Directly source key talent through LinkedIn, web searches, social media, job boards, associations, and other sources.
- Track prospects via tracking tool designed by Recruiters and produce weekly reports for the Recruiters and hiring managers that track research results and the status of each recruitment.
- Review and report hiring metrics on applicant demographics per hire, time to fill and cost to fill, and help to advise Recruiters on how to diversify applicant pools.
- Screen online resumes in PeopleSoft, reject those who do not meet qualifications, and produce a list of those whom the Recruiters should personally phone screen. May occasionally be asked to provide first-level applicant screening and pre-qualification.
- Populate applicant lists in PeopleSoft. Ensure that PeopleSoft fields are populated so as to capture cost and activity data, contact notes, and reference information. Reject applicants in PeopleSoft when final candidate is selected and accepts the position. Update applicant records in PeopleSoft as applicable.
- Attend online networking events to learn new sourcing tools and techniques, especially those related to finding diversity of talent.
- Help schedule candidate interviews and send reading prep materials in advance.
- Train field staff in creative sourcing tools and techniques.
- Conduct research and deliver results with little supervision and effectively manage multiple recruiting-related projects with competing priorities.
- Respond to job posting inquiries and provide general administrative support.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in mid-level sourcing, including market mapping, candidate identification, outreach, and candidate development.
- Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Experience constructing and producing reports.
- Experience in social media channel sourcing, online presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter), and advanced Internet research skills.
- A minimum of one year experience working with an applicant tracking system, including reporting and analytics.
- Experience in writing job advertisements and posting jobs online.
- Experience building relationships with applicants, colleagues and hiring managers.
- Experience with written and verbal communication skills, and experience training others.
- Experience in handling confidential and sensitive data.
- Experience in responding to employee and customer inquiries.
- Experience multi-tasking, being resourceful, and persistent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Basic understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.
- Two years of experience in full-cycle corporate sourcing/recruiting experience with a large nonprofit is preferred.
- Experience with sourcing diverse talent communities.
- LinkedIn Recruiter and/or AIRS certifications preferred.
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft applicant tracking system with a focus on data integrity.
- Keen attention to detail, organized and able to maintain a courteous and professional approach and attitude in working with the public.
- Solid knowledge of word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, data input, manipulation, and analysis.
- Broad understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team oriented, able to take direction and learn quickly.
- Desire to grow as a recruiting professional.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000
