The Senior Manager, Digital Production and Project Management oversees digital production, project management, and digital field coordination for the Membership department.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Senior Manager, Digital Production and Project Management is responsible for managing a team of digital fundraising professionals who deliver high-quality assets and project management across multiple digital channels. This team fields a high volume of tasks ranging from strategic collaboration with other marketing Business Units, to building emails, placing pixels, building webforms, and building advertising campaigns. S/he works with key stakeholders to ensure work product delivery is consistent with the marketing goals and strategies through the alignment of staff, vendors and team efforts to match priorities set by senior management.

The Senior Manager, Digital Production and Project Management reports to the Director of Digital Fundraising and manages three positions: Digital Project Manager, Digital Fundraising Production Specialist, and Digital Fundraising Marketing Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

Responsible for managing Membership’s Digital PM and Production team to produce excellent campaigns across the following channels and assets, along with emerging channels as needed. Current channels include:

  • Email
  • Social ads
  • Display / retargeting ads
  • Search ads (paid and grant-funded)
  • Donation forms
  • Advocacy forms
  • List-building forms / Gated content
  • Sourced links
  • Marketing pixels

Builds and monitors “channel health” dashboard that reports on:

  • Reachable email addresses by donor group
  • Email deliverability
  • Advertising health metrics (impressions, click-through rate, cost per click, last touch conversion rate) by subchannel
  • Performance of key forms
  • Performance of key entry pages on nature.org
  • Advocacy action counts
  • Develops and maintains business documentation for digital production
  • Collaborates with the Associate Director, Digital Fundraising to provide inputs to quarterly digital fundraising strategies and testing plan
  • Creates a quarterly planning deliverable assigning resources and prioritization to digital fundraising strategies
  • Maintains nature.org’s online action center; convenes creative and strategy resources to assure content and UX meets business goals
  • Creates and maintains a responsibilities and task matrix to organize the work of the team
  • Develops and maintains framework documentation/collaboration systems for field coordination
  • Oversees delivery of the Centralized Email Program, ensuring up-to-date documentation and process review/enhancement
  • Assures redundancy and quality control of team’s functions
  • Leads special projects, including efforts to support the Digital Transformation Roadmap, Membership Omnichannel efforts, and x-audience/channel health tests as needed
  • Responsible for vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, for channel health and cross-audience agreements
  • Responsible for managing general ops / fixed cost budget
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience supervising staff and teams.
  • Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
  • Experience in project management, developing marketing strategies and measuring results.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using digital fundraising systems, including eCRMs, digital analytics and reporting tools, digital advertising platforms, email delivery systems, and marketing automation, to deliver digital fundraising campaigns.
  • Experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects.
  • Experience working with task management and project management toolsets. Jira experience preferred.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred. Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Management experience that includes ability to lead, motivate, set objectives and manage performance and conflict resolution.
  • Fosters an environment of creativity and professional growth.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups including donors, board members, and the public.
  • Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in digital fundraising, including the usage of email, social, web content, personalization, SMS, search, display, retargeting, and emerging platforms.  Cross disciplinary knowledge to support program objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing the fiduciary aspects of planning and delivery of budgets.
