The Real Estate Gift Planning Associate (REGPA) provides administrative and/or program support to the Real Estate Gift Manager by producing gift calculations, drafting donor correspondence, properly recording planned gifts, and assisting in the transfer of assets.
The Real Estate Gift Planning Associate provides Gift Planning support by supplying program information to prospects, drafting routine and complex correspondence and acknowledgments, performing financial calculations, processing and properly recording gifts, and assisting in the timely transfer of assets. They support the Real Estate Gift Manager. They work with Philanthropy staff to identify and cultivate potential real estate donors, and with donors directly to explain and structure real estate gifts. They help facilitate due diligence and acceptance process of real estate gifts. The REGPA acts as liaison between donors, fundraisers and TNC’s Real Estate teams. They supply information on the Real Estate Gift Program to TNC staff, both in the field and at the Worldwide Office. Works with the Estate Team to process devises of real estate. This position requires substantial contact with TNC staff, donors, legal and financial professionals.
The REGPA maintains a high level of expertise with the constituent relationship management system (CRMS) and uses it to update donor information, produce reports, perform analysis, and track and cultivate donors. They maintain an advanced level of expertise with gift processing and gift planning policies and procedures. They support other Gift Planning staff as needed. They may assist in cultivating and soliciting donors by making initial inquiry calls, responding to direct mail response devices/inquiries, and closing simple revocable gifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Act independently on assigned tasks and exercise independent judgment based on analysis and experience.
- Coordinate projects with several variables, work within a defined timeline and budget
- Does not supervise any staff, but may supervise interns, volunteers, and/or temporary staff.
- Ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements.
- Financial responsibility includes working within a budget, processing invoices and transfers, and contracting with vendors.
- Provide input through project teams for the improvement of existing programs.
- Refer difficult questions and unusual problems to supervisor.
- Travel and work flexible hours.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
- Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.

- Experience coordinating projects.
- Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
- Experience with database administration and spreadsheet software.
- Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles & practices.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience, coursework, or other training in real estate, title transfers, or related field.
- Ability to analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports, coordinating efforts and solving problems.
- Ability to apply research skills.

- Ability to write and edit written materials for use with donor solicitations, member communications, and special events.
- Database skills, including managing data and tracking prospects.
- Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles & practices.
