In this critical, newly-created role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining technology-based learning and development initiatives to achieve individual and organizational performance objectives. As Learning Technology Specialist, you will analyze training needs and works closely with team members to identify, select, and manage a new Learning Management System. You have an opportunity to participate in the implementation of this new system globally and serve as a go-to expert on the use of technology in learning. Using your knowledge of adult learning principles and your strong organizational skills, you will facilitate the delivery of diverse learning programs for wide variety of audiences globally.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Works with Director of Learning & Development, technology team, and content experts to identify, develop, and implement customized e-Learning solutions that support learning strategies and objectives.
  • As part of a team, identifies, selects, implements, and develops a new Learning Management System for The Nature Conservancy’s world-wide employee audience that is consistent with the audience location, learner profile, learning outcomes and training program content.
  • Administers and serves as subject-matter expert and point of contact the LMS and for the use of various tools and technologies to further virtual learning engagement.
  • Supports the creation and delivery of curriculum by ensuring accessibility and continuous improvement based on client need and user feedback.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 years Learning and Development, Learning Technology, or HR related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with the implementation or management and administration of a Learning Management System
  • Experience with multiple learning authoring tools and/or other technologies to deliver on learning needs.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: organizational development, adult learning theory, needs assessment, program evaluation, virtual course development and the use of relevant learning technologies in the design, development and delivery of learning and training programs.
  • Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Solid knowledge of word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, data input, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Broad understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • May require fluency in foreign language(s) to support global operations.
