The Nature Conservancy’s GLOBE (Growing Leaders on Behalf of the Environment) summer internship program hires undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent college graduates (2017, 2018, and 2019) to fill paid internship positions during a 10-week summer internship. These positions are available throughout the United States and provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and real-world conservation work. The program recruits individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences who are interested in contributing to our conservation goals in various fields. We offer a structured orientation, professional training, network opportunities, mentoring program, and real work experience.
The IT Business Administrator GLOBE Intern will be a part of the IT Finance & Operations team and will be exposed to assignments in Accounting & Finance/Budgets, Contracts, Human Resources and IT Procurement and Asset Lifecycle. These activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Human Resources: Assisting with the recruitment for, and the on and off-boarding of, IT staff; assisting with staff trainings and recognitions;
- Contractual: Assisting with managing the Contracts Management System, including help reviewing of processes, understanding and connecting related entities and contractual documents, and providing general document management for a central repository of ITS contracts;
- Financial: Providing administrative support to the Finance Administrator, including support for the processing of invoices and employee expense reports and detailed financial reporting;
- Procurement & Asset Life Cycle: Learn current practices and processes, and ways to streamline and improve efficiencies for a self-service procurement model in a decentralized environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Review IT DOFO Guidebook and make recommendations for improvements
- Help improve administration procedures
- Assist in contract review process
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities
- Printing, uploading and completing general HR documents
- Assist with invoice processing and consolidation
- Serves as a team member for assigned projects
- Completion of The Nature Conservancy’s LEAF Internship Program
- Experience with MS Office
- Experience in generating reports and interpreting data
- Experience in business writing, editing and proofreading
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree of Business Administration
- Previous experience with Outlook and SharePoint
- Experience to self-start and take initiative with the confidence to ask questions and seek input
- Experience of organizational, research, and interpersonal skills
- Experience to manage time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results
SALARY INFORMATION: $12.50/per hour (undergrads) and $14.50/per hour (graduate and recently graduated level students)
This is a full-time, temporary internship position with a 10-week term of June 3 – August 9, 2019
