The Water Funds Corporate Strategy Associate will work within the Global Water Security team to coordinate and manage various program efforts in support of the Conservancy’s work with the private sector to value and protect vulnerable freshwater ecosystems. S/he will support the team’s collaborations with multinational corporations, including research and analysis, database management, partnership building and internal coordination across diverse countries and cultures.. S/he will be based out of the Conservancy’s Worldwide Office in Arlington, VA (strongly preferred) and report to the Deputy Managing Director for Water Funds and be largely embedded within the Corporate Engagement team at the Conservancy.
The Water Funds Corporate Strategy Associate provides support to the Global Water Security and Corporate Engagement teams in scoping, securing, and project managing the Conservancy’s programs on water with corporations. S/he coordinates across the Conservancy network to develop unified proposals and outcome reports for multinational corporations. S/he conducts research in support of the Conservancy’s corporate practice and philanthropy priorities, builds and facilitates internal networks, and coordinates meetings, agendas, and presentations. S/he provides services that assist in influencing the outcome of corporate water initiatives at the international, country, sub-national, and local levels. S/he also provide project management and communications support to fellow Global Water Security team members working to advance our water-related science, policy, capacity building and finance goals. The Water Funds Corporate Strategy Associate will lead activities to help build both internal and external awareness about the Conservancy’s work on water with private sector allies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Provides research and project management in support of corporate water and related priorities.
- Prepares program materials and templates including fundraising proposals, communications documents, presentations, memos concept notes, budgets and reports.
- Helps to keep collaboration details up to date, including documentation of meeting outcomes and interactions in internal constituent relationship management database.
- Resolves issues independently within program area.
- Opportunity to act independently within program goals.
- May work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
- Financial responsibility to complete projects appropriately, and assist with budget development.
- Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Schedules and coordinates calls and meetings
- Work independently, working with supervisor as needed.
- May supervise administrative staff and/or volunteers, interns, or temporary staff.
- Organize diverse teams, including outside of the Global Water Security team.
- Support internal and external marketing.
- Prepare recommendations to senior leadership and contribute to strategy development.
- Supports other activities as needed.
- 3 years related experience, coursework, or other training in Business, Water Resources Management, Conservation/Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or related field.
- Experience researching information from divergent sources and compiling it into a cohesive reporting structure.
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects.
- Experience writing, editing and proofreading.
- Fluency in English.
