The Associate Director – Global Employee Experience builds, scales, and leads the delivery of exceptional experiences for current and potential employees with the ultimate goal of making TNC the #1 place for talent in the conservation sector. As a member of The People Team, which supports a global, matrixed and decentralized organization, the Associate Director – Global Employee Experience will build upon existing successful talent practices customized for local cultures and geographies while supplementing them with best practices from outside of TNC. Key areas of responsibility include change management, employee communications and engagement, performance enablement and recognition. Employee experience programs will be data-driven, and center around aligning touchpoints throughout the employee life cycle with TNC’s priorities for Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Management, Leadership Competencies and Employee Engagement.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • In collaboration with key partners and stakeholders across TNC globally, assess, develop, and support programmatic solutions and recommendations for excellence in all employee touchpoints: Recruiting, Onboarding, Development, Career Growth, Assessment, Engagement, Retention, and Rewards.       
  • Use key metrics and data to inform recommendations to improve and develop TNC’s People practices.
  • Create dashboards to measure results and inform decision-making. 
  • Lead and manage employee engagement surveys, including TNC-wide efforts as well as targeted pulse surveys, and support customized change management efforts in partnership with HR Business Partners, the Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion function and other BU-staff.
  • Identify and connect key leaders to appropriate resources, programs and organizational interventions to support TNC’s values- and competencies-based initiatives in leadership development, management capability, diversity, equity & inclusion.
  • Work with key partners to develop and execute initiatives that support a culture of equity and inclusion throughout a decentralized and dispersed organization.   
  • Coach colleagues and leaders at all levels by leveraging expert knowledge of employee engagement and relations, sharing best practices, and giving voice to TNC values through complex organizational challenges.
  • Partner with Internal Communications, People Team, Employee Resource Groups, Global Diversity Equity & Inclusion and other colleagues to develop, execute and support employee experience strategies and articulate the employee value proposition.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, both within and outside the United States.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience as a leader in Human Resources or People functions, including in a large, global, matrixed organization.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Professional experience must encompass: employment, employee relations, rewards, training and development, organizational development and recruiting.
  • Minimum of 2 years specifically overseeing employee engagement programs or efforts for a diverse and distributed client group.
  • Experience in strategic planning for a diverse, decentralized, geographically dispersed and multicultural global organization.
  • Experience working with global programs/teams in the HR arena.
  • Inclusive leadership skills and experience building authentic relationships across differences of power and identity, including cultivating shared meaning and soliciting multiple perspectives to achieve desired results.      
  • Experienced trainer and facilitator.
  • Experience with leading projects and coordinating the work of others.
  • Experience using MS Office software, including Excel, with experience in constructing and producing reports, data manipulation, and analysis.
