The Systems Strategy Manager (SSM) for RevGen Systems works with those business areas responsible for revenue generation for The Nature Conservancy, including Marketing, Membership, Development and Government Relations. The SSM is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of analysis for IT product and service projects, to optimize organization efficiency. The SSM works to promote technology as integral to organizational effectiveness. S/he works in partnership with business area staff to define and validate the systems and processes needed to enhance their contribution to TNC’s organizational goals.
Systems Strategy Managers analyze, test, and otherwise evaluate business systems, TIS services and operations, and user needs. They gather and document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems and processes to meet overall business strategies. SSMs perform business analyst activities and make recommendations in areas that require medium to high level of technical competencies. They collaborate laterally with other TIS staff to identify and leverage solutions across business units. They may lead mid-level projects and advise other IT Analysts. They may be responsible for project or task management and issues related to implementing and establishing technical standards and procedures. They may function as the account manager for one or more of the RevGen business areas, serving as their interface to TIS.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Work in lateral teams to provide guidance and specific expertise to business teams on products/systems
- Knowledgeable about the strategies, goals, actions and work processes of the business/system/service/operations s/he works with.
- Conduct analysis of business or technical user needs, documenting requirements and developing system specifications.
- Develop and execute test plans to confirm user requirements.
- Provide IT support for mid-level to complex business or technical activities.
- Act as a liaison between TIS and end users to ensure technical compatibility and satisfaction.
- Able to adapt and/or modify processes in response to changing circumstances.
- Well versed in specific industry best practices, and an ability to adapt them to TNC’s organization.
- Able to work effectively across multiple mid-level to complex projects.
- Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for IT tasks.
- Write and maintain detailed systems documentation, including user procedures and job aids.
- Translate user/or systems requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Establish control policies in accordance with best practices and define benchmarks and measures.
- Ensure proper coordination and collaboration with other teams.
- Willing to travel and work flexible long hours and on the weekend.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience as a business or technical profession in Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience in defining and documenting complex systems requirements.
- Experience in communicating effectively with internal and external audiences.
