The Bank Reconciliation Manager is responsible for the Finance and/or Accounting activities of an Operating Unit or department.

The Bank Reconciliation Manager is responsible for managing the bank reconciliation activities and personnel for Worldwide Office Finance.  The Manager is responsible for reviewing bank reconciliations performed by others and preparing reconciliations of complex general ledger accounts, including reconciliation of credit card activity.  This role serves as a technical expert on reconciliation issues and is a liaison between Worldwide Office and business units to ensure compliance with internal and external financial, accounting, and administrative policies and procedures.  As part of this liaison function, the Bank Reconciliation Manager is expected to escalate deficiencies in bank reconciliations in a timely, actionable manner and assist the bank reconciliation preparers with corrections and resolution of reconciling items.  The Bank Reconciliation Manager will be responsible for providing and explaining documentation to internal and external auditors, including responding to moderately complex questions and implementing corrective action plans arising from audit findings, if any.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Works toward meeting the strategic priorities of the program by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans, completing and/or overseeing day-to-day tasks. 
  • Implements and manages new initiatives, processes and procedures, reports, and training.
  • Supervises one or more professional staff.
  • Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
  • Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.  
  • May manage or participate in complex negotiations.
  • Reports to leadership on activities.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration and 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience with preparing or reviewing bank reconciliations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g. functions, array formulas).
  • Experience recruiting, supervising and developing staff.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience desired. Must communicate effectively using a variety of media (e.g. email, Skype for Business, telephone) to overcome barriers such as remote work locations, differences in language and time zones, and technology limitations.
  • Technical expert on complex accounting/financial issues, including bank reconciliations.  
  • Experience monitoring for and ensuring compliance with organizational policy, applicable law and regulation, and finance/accounting/management best practice.
  • Experience evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls; interpreting guidelines and analyzing factual information to adapt or modify processes as needed.
  • Comfortable adapting to new technology, testing and incorporating in business processes
  • Ability to resolve complex issues independently within program area.
  • Experience acting as a resource to others to solve problems.
  • CPA preferred.
