The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA currently provides services to the Arlington, Mansfield, Kennedale, Pantego, Dalworthington Gardens, and Rendon communities, with 21 after-school sites and 6 summer day camps, with plans to partner with many more schools and agencies in the future. The staff includes 3 full-time Program Directors, 3 SACC Coordinators and almost 100 part-time counselors and site directors.
The Executive Director of Youth Engagement, reporting directly to the President and CEO, has primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Association Youth Engagement including, but not limited to school-age services and camps. This is a hands-on position that will include both Executive duties and program responsibilities and will oversee a budget of 1.7 M. Experience in the areas of staff supervision, program development, fiscal management, fundraising, volunteer cultivation and community involvement are required. The Executive Director of Youth Engagement will have the skills and experiences necessary to establish a culture of quality and service in an effort to meet and exceed the goals and objectives set forth in the strategic plan. The successful candidate will model the behavioral values established by the Association and will have a passion and enthusiasm for the mission of the Y.
- Directs and administers all association operations for school-age services/after-school care and camp and ensure a growth based model at existing sites through quality programming.
- Manages operational budget, including budget preparation, makes adjustments exercising necessary controls to ensure operations are consistent and goals are met with success.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate working relationships with staff and volunteers, community leaders and organizations.
- Leads the process of long range vision and plans for the continued success of the association.
- Responsible for achieving Youth Engagement operating budget.
- Leads staff development which includes recruitment, training, coaching, supervising, evaluating, and recognizing staff.
- Develops and nurtures relationships in the community that will further the goals of our cause-driven organization.
- Implement character development and YMCA core values in all programs and aspects of operations.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining critical relationships including school-based administration and branch executives.
- Works collectively with association leadership to organize and conduct annual campaign efforts.
- Collaborates with the Association Director of Marketing & Communications to maximize the promotion of school-age and other youth engagement services as well as to develop and implement an annual marketing plan.
- Collaborates with branch Executive Directors to cross market programs at camps, after-school, and other youth engagement programs.
- Works with Board of Directors and other volunteer committees for a successful operation.
- Develops and maintains contacts in the community with political, business, and civic leaders to educate and inform the YMCA mission.
- YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.
- Must meet the qualifications of a Director for the TDFPS
- Two + years of director level experience preferred.
- Two + years of experience in a licensed school-age childcare program.
- Demonstrated background in fiscal management, staff management and development, and volunteer development.
- Must have a successful track record in program growth.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve results.
- Ability to integrate all Association policies and procedures into day to day activities.
- Excellent understanding of and experience with community development principles as they apply to partnerships, collaborations, and program delivery outside YMCA facilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven record of successful operation management.
- Ability to think conceptually, analyze and solve problems, and demonstrate assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job.
- Must be able to work effectively with a diversity of people, different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and all ages. Interacts regularly with members, volunteers, staff and other community leaders.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
