The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team as the Director of Membership at the North YMCA Branch. Our YMCA association is located in the center of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and offers affordable cost of living, great entertainment, and many other exciting opportunities for individuals and families.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Works to coordinate all membership systems and procedures relative to recruiting, retaining, and recapturing members
  • Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction
  • Assists with association marketing efforts to create and implement membership and promotional campaigns as needed
  • Works with executive and branch team to communicate all membership campaigns and events
  • Works to meet all sales and retention goals, minimizing terminations
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and supervises welcome center staff; develops strategies to motivate staff to reach goals
  • Conducts monthly one-on-one meetings with all membership staff
  • Develops staff to use cause-driven approaches in all interactions
  • Leads cause-driven tour workshops and ensure tour standards are met
  • Responsible for supervision and success of the branch's Leads Program
  • Ensures staff are utilizing Daxko Engage and are meeting association standards
  • Leads membership department in annual support campaign and works with the team to reach branch annual support campaign goal
  • Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery areas
  • Works to identify new memberships through YMCA corporate membership programs; communicates all membership and program promotions to corporate contacts
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, responsible for the success of the facility audits
  • Attend required membership cabinets and complete assigned responsibilities
  • Assists in the recruitment and development of volunteers
  • Works effectively with volunteers and the membership committee
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred
  • Understanding of the nature of the YMCA as a membership organization and the programs associated with membership
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Possess skills in budgeting, fiscal tracking, financial development, hiring and supervision of staff, planning and organizing, member enrollment, and marketing
  • Possess skills in managing multiple priorities, organization, attention to detail, communications, customer relations, motivating staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve results.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems and demonstrate assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Daxko, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a diversity of people, different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and all ages. Interacts regularly with members, volunteers, staff and other community leaders.

Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00
