The Membership Director will successfully lead the Heart of the Valley YMCA Member Services department.  Director will seek out ways to continuously build relationships with members, participants, staff, and volunteers. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, managing, coaching and counseling all Member Services staff. Timely and accurate internal communication related to departments responsible to ensure all staff can do their jobs effectively. Hold regular department meetings; respond to customer service problems, compliments, complaints in a timely manner to increase customer satisfaction and member/program retention. Responsible for the organization of all membership records with extreme accuracy of data. Director will plan, develop, and oversee an annual budget of income and expense for the Heart of the Valley YMCA. Assist in the coordination and implementation of fundraisers as determined. Director will serve as a trainer for all member services related trainings. Director will support the annual association giving programs and campaign and serve as a liaison to Annual Campaign volunteers. Must be knowledgeable in computer functions including Microsoft Office suite and have experience working with volunteers.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Previous experience in a leadership capacity including managing staff and budget responsibility preferred.
  • Ability to motivate, retain, and develop staff.
  • Ability to relate effectively and deliver outstanding customer services to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
