The Development Assistant will aid in the logistical and administrative aspects of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s events across the state. The Development Assistant will report to the Development Director.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist in implementation of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in our 23 counties.
  • Manage all aspects of event data for Convio/Luminate software program.
  • Provide support to key volunteers and participants for Walk to End Alzheimer’s event.
  • Assist in the recruitment of corporate, individual and team sponsorships, including follow-up phone calls, meetings, and speaking opportunities to promote event participation.
  • Manage Walk Community Websites through Convio/Luminate.
  • Execute the inventory and ordering of event supplies. 
  • Assist on the day-of logistics and needs.
  • Ability to analyze specific information and make necessary recommendations.
  • Assist supervisor as needed.
Educational Background: 
Degree preferred in a related field or equivalent work and education experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
  • Experience with constituent management databases.
  • 2 years of event planning and logistics.
  • Volunteer coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work effectively with all types of individuals.
  • Normal to fast-paced office environment.
  • High volume of computer work.
  • Work may be stressful at times.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Requires additional hours surrounding events.
  • Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High volume of public contact.
  • High level of integrity, diplomacy, and initiative.
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport materials up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers and external contacts to build and maintain effective teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Commitment to a professional code of ethics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and electronically to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to operate designated equipment.
