The Anaheim Family YMCA is recruiting for a Sports and Fitness Program Director! The job is located in Anaheim, CA.

Responsible for developing, organizing, delivering and administering sports leagues, sports classes, and fitness programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults. Recruits, hires, supervises and develops their team. Responsible for recruiting and engaging volunteers for their programs

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop, organize, deliver and administer sports leagues, tournaments, recreation programs, activities and awards
  • Develop, organize, deliver and administer classes and programs that promote fitness for youth and adults.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, and direct all games, facilities, officials, and scorekeepers for YMCA sports and activities
  • Actively research new sports and fitness programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults
  • Ensure a high level of customer service for all program participants
  • Prepare and manage the program budget to ensure revenue and program service goals are achieved
  • Responsible for the success and growth of sports and fitness programs in all service areas
  • Continually review, evaluate and modify programs as necessary
  • Ensure all standards are followed for each program
  • Recruit, hire on-board, train, develop and supervise staff and volunteers
  • Provide appropriate staff, volunteer and participant recognition to maintain high staff morale and low staff turn-over
  • Must monitor and approve all staff timesheets
  • Establishes partnerships that strengthen programs. Be a part of community events/ committees in each city the Anaheim Family YMCA serves.
  • Research, develop, implement and assists staff on the start-up of new programs
  • Conductor attend regular staff meetings and one-on-one conferences as needed
  • Maintain and report to Operations Director any deficiencies, gaps or increased program member numbers and budgets that does or does not meet annual set targets
  • Must participate and set program goals for Annual Support Campaign and any other campaign efforts as needed. Must provide volunteers/campaigners within the formation or materials needed to meet the Association goal.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess at least a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Four or more years of professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred; bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Wage: Full-time/Exempt. $54,080 Annual Salary + benefits
