The anticipated USAID/Jordan project aims to increase the preparedness of future Grade 4-10 teachers in Jordan by improving the pre-service teacher education programming offered by Jordanian universities. This project would support four selected universities and relevant Government of Jordan (GoJ) entities in the introduction and implementation of a sustainable and scalable pre-service teacher education program, centered primarily around the utilization of the adapted QRTA pre-service teacher education modules (the “Pre-Service Modules”).
Provide overall technical guidance to the pre-service teacher training program in Jordan by:
- Playing a pivotal role in working closely with the government authorities, universities, other partners and local teams to develop/establish pre-service teacher training policy, standards and performance expectations
- Coordinating the pedagogy curriculum integration work at target universities in Jordan and other relevant stakeholder so that collaborative and sustainable teacher education programs are developed that are aligned with pre-service teacher training policy, standards and performance expectations
- Supporting Jordanian university administrations and faculty in establishing necessary procedures, curricular reforms and training expectations
- Monitoring and documenting project progress, success, and challenges in a way that would keep the government informed of all progress always and program adaptation would ensue because of appropriate/effective data collection and feedback loops
- Working closely with the Chief of Party, Operations Manager, ministries, and universities to complete project objectives in a compliant way, on budget and on time
- Providing overall quality assurance oversight on the design, implementation, and evaluation of program activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, university priorities, and government policies;
- Whenever appropriate, supervising the integration of technology into teacher training activities.
- Typically requires 8-11 years of experience in education.
- Knowledge and experience in specific technical area.
- Informed of current program developments in division/unit/technical area.
- Years of work experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of technical issues.
- Ability to manage projects, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of activities.
