Branch Executive Director - Bethlehem Branch

The branch executive director positon oversees the daily operations and advancement of a YMCA branch. This includes membership, programs, property management, staff development, fundraising, volunteer relations, community relations, and collaborations/partnerships.

The Bethlehem Branch YMCA is a full facility YMCA, with approximately 1,500 membership units, large preschool and school-age child care programs, aquatics programs, senior programs, and adult housing complex. The branch budget size is approximately $2.5MM.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Meets or exceeds the annual branch budget while accomplishing the YMCA mission.
  • Manages resources and creates systems to accomplish the annual plan for programs and membership services.
  • Accomplishes annual fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Provides leadership and managmenet to the branch staff team.
  • Nurtures and grows volunteer engagement and community collaborations.   
  • Develops a strong branch staff team. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business, or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct total operations through, supervision of staff and volunteers, monitoring of a budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Expectations of high level of professionalism, ability to perform under deadline, management, group leadership skills, a high degree of organization, must be flexible, and must be able to multi task.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills; innovation skills.
  • Experience in management of staff and volunteers; ability to recruit top community leaders and staff members. Experience in developing staff and volunteer teams.
  • Ability to communicate well and relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community, and ability to strongly influence others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and a felony-free criminal background record are required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00
