The Albuquerque Regional Development Manager will with the development team to implement plans and strategies to meet goals for major fundraising events such as Walk to End Alzheimer’s (WTEA) and The Longest Day (TLD). The position will manage the development and implementation of the Chapter’s WTEA and TLD fundraising events through planning, logistics, volunteer recruitment and engagement, corporate development and fundraising.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure all benchmarks and targets for assigned fundraising events in the region are being met.
  • Achieve current revenue and expense budgets for WTEA and TLD in the region, with direct accountability for goals.
  • Develop and follow a comprehensive development plans for assigned events in the region, including budgets, timelines, team recruitment and retention strategies, volunteer committee development and event logistics.
  • Develop community contacts to recruit high level volunteer leadership for fundraising events.
  • Ensure volunteer committees are recruited, trained and developed on timelines, standards and best practices, resulting in the attainment of income goal and team goals.
  • Work with the volunteer planning committees to organize outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer’s Association mission and services, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key corporate sponsors year-round and ensure involvement in all relevant chapter activities and recognition opportunities.
  • Through volunteer networks, prospect, cultivate and steward teams, sponsors and participants to achieve the Chapter’s development goals.
  • Ensure timely and efficient data entry process and donation processing related to all events, and assist with daily deposits and constituent acknowledgement.
  • Manage the event websites and all related setup, reports and information.
  • Promote employee education sessions in local corporations in the community to generate awareness for our cause, reach out to others, give back to the corporate sector and to open new doors for sponsorship opportunities.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor's degree in a related field. An equivalency of work experience and education may be considered
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of three years of experience in marketing, sales, fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, special events or a related field
  • Experience recruiting, motivating and coaching volunteers in a fundraising environment preferred
  • Prior success in the development and promotion of fundraising events or similar programs
  • Ability to form and develop corporate relationships and partnerships
  • Ability to sell the Chapter’s programs and events to a variety of audiences, including corporate management, individual participants and volunteers
  • Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with community and coworkers
  • Willingness to assist on projects/assignments outside of department
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, database applications and Google
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the Chapter territory, as well as occasional overnight travel
  • Access to reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
