BeWellnm is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to fulfill its mission of promoting efforts to educate and enroll New Mexicans in affordable health insurance coverage that promotes better access to timely, high quality healthcare. This position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with the possibility to work remotely on a temporary basis pending relocation.

The Ideal Candidate


The ideal candidate is a well-rounded Executive with depth in operations and project management in the health care insurance marketplace, and experience in relevant information technology systems.

The CEO works closely with the beWellnm Board, setting policy and strategic direction, and applies specialized knowledge to develop initiatives and project plans, lead projects, and ensure compliance of IT functionality and vendor/contractor relationships.

The CEO has ultimate accountability for staff, financial operations, marketing, and membership, risk management, education and training, legislative efforts, information systems, communication strategies, and administrative functions.

The ideal candidate will champion collaborative, transparent leadership to ensure an engaged workplace  culture and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of the organization.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


Functions and responsibilities critical to the success of this role include:


•     Organizational  Performance: Sets strategic priorities for beWellnm and directs implementation in  all  key functional areas.


•     Marketing/Outreach Strategy: Oversees marketing, education and outreach strategies to expand beWellnm’s distribution to brokers, carriers, navigators and providers.

•     Organizational Leadership: Models a collaborative environment, by appropriately incorporating Board advice and stakeholder feedback into company operations and strategy.


•     Regulatory Adherence: Operates the Exchange effectively in collaboration with the Federal and State government, adhering to all Federal and State regulations. Ensures privacy and security of all data, and is fully HIPAA compliant.


•     External Constituent Leadership: Models positive leadership in interactions with external constituencies.


•     Team Building & Management Succession: Actively recruits and develops a team of highly qualified individuals to implement business strategies and eventually provide management succession within the organization.

•     Governance: Coordinates Board activities to facilitate a focused, effective, and constructive Board.


•     Vendor Management: Ensures successful operations of beWellnm’s technology, marketing, and other critical areas supported by vendors.

 

Minimum Qualifications
•     Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior management role, with 10 years of overall management experience.


•     Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a relevant field.

Organizational Effectiveness

•    Knowledge of IT systems involved in the administration of State health insurance exchange programs.


•   Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Internet software.


•   Use/storage/maintenance of multiple usernames and passwords, to ensure confidentiality of all systems and any other proprietary information.


•   Use of Windows Explorer (electronic file-handling).


•   Computer-related problem-solving skills through the use of available trainings and help desk.


•   Demonstrated excellent management and interpersonal skills to foster a team environment.


•   Demonstrated creative policymaking, project management, and problem solving skills.


•   Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in policy, health, or business.
