The core responsibility of the Global Project Manager is to coordinate a project team and plan and manage the work plan for a distributed global day of action and more, as well as contribute to some of the implementation of that work plan. You will work with closely with 350 staff and diverse NGO and grassroots allies internationally to generate widespread participation a global mobilisation
The ideal candidate will be an experienced mobiliser, with creative instincts, figuring out how to manifest ambitious visions, with extensive experience in project management, relentless attention to detail, and multi-stakeholder multi-cultural coordination (preferably international). They will be a driven self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a keen sense for campaign and movement dynamics. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.
- Coordinate Global Project Team’s work plan and schedule to execute our mobilisation global plan, in collaboration with a diverse set of international partners.
- Support the international partner Steering Group for the mobilisation including development and oversight of shared project plan; attend partner meetings as required
- Help keep a wide group of partners from across the world informed, inspired and engaged in the mobilisation; help with outreach and consultations with a wide range of organisations
- Ensure team leads for Digital, Communications, Organising, Training, Art, Video, Political Strategy, Regional Teams, etc are clear on their responsibilities, coordinate effectively together, and deliver on time and to budget.
- Support communications flow and systems, such as hosting internal regular meetings and providing regular cross-organisational updates
- Manage and track the 350 project budget implementation, reporting to the budget owner.
- Ensure good project management such as sign-off processes, risk management within 350 and for the wider partner Steering Group, etc.
- Support around seven key mobilisation locations around the world with additional grants, logistical support, creative input, and promotion, in coordination with Regional Teams.
- Coordinate with the Organising team leads to to integrate plans for aftermath and follow-up from the mobilisation.
- Design and deliver evaluation and learning process at the end of the project.
- Highly experienced in organising mobilisations, with creative instincts
- Established track record of successful project management and experience with different project management tools
- Excellent self-organising skills; Problem solver with a positive attitude; able to work in a fast-paced environment
- An excellent leader/coordinator of diverse teams and also willing to dig in on all kinds of tasks
- Culturally intelligent - truly interested in learning about different regions and able to articulate issues in a manner that bring people together to make progress.
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work in diverse coalitions, with organisations that have a range of perspectives, to deliver projects and events.
Desired (but not required) skills and experiences
- Project management in a multi-country project.
- Experience working with diverse coalitions, including labor, grassroots, community, environmental justice, economic justice and/or political campaigns.
- Multi-lingual.
- Able to travel internationally.
- Understanding and experience of working in the Climate Movement
