This position supports the day-to-day administrative and operational needs of Save the Children’s innovation program. The Innovation Manger will work in partnership with the Senior Director of Innovation, the Director of Breakthrough Innovation Partnership, and the innovation champion team to support the execution of our innovation program. S/he will lead the operational management of our innovation pipeline and the award & financial management of our funded innovation pilots.

This role will support optimizing our innovation program through strong, aligned operations and internal communications across the Save the Children movement. This role requires strong business-partnering, stakeholder engagement, Microsoft Office and project management skills.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Manage and support the innovation program’s operational needs (35%)

  • Manage and optimize Save the Children’s innovation pipeline.
  • Manage the day-to-day award management of funded innovation pilots.
  • Review monthly financial innovation reports against annual budget.
  • Organize and provide logistical support for key innovation meetings including innovation council, innovation group, and other meetings as requested.
  • Lead scribe at all innovation meetings.
  • Maintain innovation program calendar.
  • Support innovation team with the development of internal and external presentations.
  • Additional administrative duties including managing the Senior Director of Innovation’s calendar, travel and expenses as well as performing other duties as may be required.

Manage innovation quarterly reporting process (25%)

  • Manage funded innovation pilot reporting process by ensuring timely submission of quarterly/annual reporting, collecting pilot reports, updating and maintaining innovation dashboard, and sharing the published dashboard with stakeholders.

 Provide knowledge management and communication support to promote the innovation program. (25%)

  • Maintain document and knowledge management resource libraries on Save the Children SharePoint sites, OneNet and SaveNet, and Workplace.
  • Provide internal communications support across the Movement by promoting innovation application periods and showcasing the innovation program’s successes and efforts.
  • Monitor external innovation trends/conferences/funding opportunities and share key insights through pre-established internal communications networks
  • Support innovation knowledge sharing across the Movement by capturing and sharing best practices, success stories and lessons learned.

Support innovation fundraising efforts across fundraising teams (15%)

  • Provide donor management (BBEC) dashboard support to Director of Breakthrough Innovation Partnership.
  • Provide support for adhoc requests relating to the development/updating of donor materials related to innovation fundraising efforts.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma,
Skills/Experience: 

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum 3-5 years’ related experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required. Significant Microsoft Excel and SharePoint/web development experience required.
  • Requires learned knowledge, technical skills and attention to detail to support semi-complex tasks.
  • Self-starter with an interest in innovation, nonprofit management, and/or international affairs.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience preparing reports and interacting with senior management staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with colleagues at different levels within an organization.
  • Fluent oral and written English skills required.
