The Director of Annual Giving works to increase the Y’s presence in the community and drives increased philanthropic revenue through fundraising and effective philanthropic activities and practices. The Director of Annual Giving will possess professionalism and discretion as well as the skills necessary to be a catalyst in carrying out the Y’s mission. This individual will be responsible for continuing to expand the growth of our annual giving revenue. Additionally this individual will be responsible for tracking the ROI of our fundraising efforts and metrics will be used to determine the effectiveness of all efforts taken including tracking donor contacts. The Director of Annual Giving will develop and implement an Annual Giving plan and establish and build the contacts needed to allow the YMCA to reach new heights in fundraising. The Director of Annual Giving will assist in the coaching and training of all campaign volunteers and staff to assist them in carrying out their respective related job responsibilities.
- Build relationships with donors and create a long term relationship with them. Record visits and interactions of all staff with current and prospective donors.
- Conduct the daily operations of donor stewardship and cultivation, with timely follow up on phone calls and inquiries.
- Analyzes effectiveness of communication in collaboration with the marketing director, including ROI.
- Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to prepare the annual budget and calendar of events for the Annual Giving program.
- Serve as the point person for special events that support Annual Giving.
- Direct the Annual Giving plan to ensure the organization reaches the campaign goal with the goal of continually building our donor base and increasing size of donor’s gifts in the major gifts category. Report metrics to the leadership staff and Board of Directors.
- Responsible for donor wealth research and analysis with a goal to continually expand our donor base relating to the YMCA Capital Projects.
- Develop and administer a set of annual giving “best practices” to include a well-conceived donor recognition program.
- Work with Chief Operating Officer and Executive Directors to diversify and bolster new and current funding sources, including grants, on-line giving, special events, etc.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Commitment to the YMCA’s mission and work as a cause-driven organization. Relationship builders who are good listeners and have the ability to articulate a concise message will be successful in this position.
- Significant knowledge of the service area is a plus
- Strong analytical skills, self-motivated and action/goal-oriented and have experience working with and coordinating volunteers.
- Previous experience working in the non-profit sector.
- Microsoft Office competency, donor research, and data base management experience is essential.
Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00
