The Associate Director of Content Marketing will oversee content engagement and syndication in external and internal channels. She/he will lead project management for the curation, rollout and analysis of content for editorial priorities, lead generation campaigns and integrated marketing moments. In partnership with communications, marketing and fundraising colleagues, the AD will help create a culture of content excellence where we are more adept leveraging, replicating and scaling up content for the US and the global movement. The AD will also contribute to original content, such as blogging, vlogging and writing landing pages, as well as optimizing content produced by others for search engine and social media optimization.
- Operationalize content engagement and syndication strategies, including working across the agency to ensure alignment with the editorial calendar and content strategy. Liaise with key stakeholders and channel owners, championing the content strategy and gathering requirements. Monitor and evaluate content marketing campaigns, including monthly reports. (25%)
- Support content creation and marketing around key moments and real-time opportunities. Write search optimized copy decks for content marketing campaign landing pages and blog posts. Work closely with the SEO Focal Point, Digital Communications Manager and Digital Content Production Manager to support quality content and excellence in all relevant content. (25%)
- Identify and carry out content marketing, lead-generation campaigns, in collaboration with cultivation channel owners. Work closely with stakeholders on creating donor journeys that maximize conversion and retention of new donors. (20%)
- Contribute to branded content, including blog-post writing, editing marketing campaign copy, and liaising with program and advocacy teams on creating digital hand-raiser activities. (20%)
- Other duties as assigned, including periodic field assignments to support asset gathering and general support of content marketing needs around disasters and humanitarian emergencies. (10%)
Required Qualifications
- You have a minimum 5-7 years' experience in marketing (or related field) experience in corporate, agency or non-profit environment
- Knowledge of marketing automation and inbound marketing concepts (e.g. CTAs, landing pages, etc.).
- Strong grasp of search engine optimization, including synergies between social media and YouTube and their influence on search results.
- Highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale and process, and rely on data to make decisions.
- Working knowledge of digital metrics and key performance indicators, including ability to extract actionable intelligence from analytics reports.
- Strong analytical skills and keen ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and programs.
- Effective communicator who is not afraid to ask questions, gather information, and receive feedback.
- Self-directed and results-driven with a strong customer focus
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other agencies and client partners to meet common goals.
- Availability to work out of hours for on-call and emergency duties.
