Director of Development wanted for Planned Parenthood Arizona, located in Central Phoenix Admin Office.
The Director of Development, a seasoned and data-driven leader, leads and manages all PPAZ fundraising activities. The Director is an individual who can be flexible in responding to the needs of a fast moving and dynamic organization. This engaged, team-centered leader is expected to strategically direct a major gift & capital fundraising campaign, as well as annual giving, planned giving, special campaigns, corporate and foundation support, and special events. In order to be successful, the Director of Development, a positive, open, and collaborative leader, will need to focus on leading a results oriented, data-driven major and planned giving program, while continuing to grow foundation support, annual giving and special events participation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Deep, passionate commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission and the ability to communicate its objectives enthusiastically to potential donors.
- A bachelor's degree; an advanced degree would be preferred, and four years of supervisory management experience in development, fundraising, public administration, social work or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- A minimum of four to seven years of leadership experience in managing successful fundraising teams, including individual (major and annual), corporate, and foundation giving, and events.
- Ability to recruit, manage, motivate, and inspire an fundraising team that strives to achieve goals.
- Proven drive and achievement in the successful solicitation of major gifts ($10,000 and above)
- Proven success in working with engaged boards and volunteers.
- Ability to work well in a high-energy, changing environment and manage a wide variety of tasks and deadlines within multiple projects.
- Ability to lead in a focused manner with superb attention to detail and confidence.
- A data-driven, strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively with executive teams, staff, and boards.
- Excellent communication skills with an inspiring and persuasive ability, including strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Broad financial management skills with experience in fundraising and budget analysis, forecasting, and planning.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of nonprofit, fundraising, and constituent relationship management systems such as Blackbaud and/or Salesforce.
- Ability to travel and work some evenings and weekends for events and meetings.
Pay Range: $79,000-$95,000 DOE plus benefits
