Save the Children US Programs and Advocacy division will launch an exciting new strategic plan in early 2018. The Senior Coordinator, Strategic Operations will support the Associate Vice President of Program Quality and Implementation and the Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Management to ensure achievement of strategic objectives. This includes the development and execution of annual plans and budgets and monitoring progress versus goals. S/he will also work with the Senior Director and AVP to set agendas for Program Leadership calls and other meetings and support follow up on action items. S/he must have strong written and verbal communications and the ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Support the development and implementation of strategic, annual plans for USPA.
- Work with the Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Management and the Associate Vice President of Program Quality and Implementation to develop annual plans, goal trees, budgets and other planning documents.
- Compile quarterly and annual reports for the division. Provide assessments of key achievements/wins and flag any areas for concern.
- Support the development of presentations for key agency meetings.
- Provide ad-hoc support to program and advocacy teams to ensure high-priority initiatives are on track for timely achievement.
Support SMT (Senior Management Team ) and Program Leadership Teams.
- Work with Senior Director and AVP to set and distribute agendas and other materials for recurring and ad hoc meetings. Prepare meeting minutes (as needed) and capture action items.
- Work with Senior Director and AVP to ensure prompt follow up and strong coordination across the division.
- Work with SMT to plan and execute monthly town halls/staff meetings, as well as annual retreats and other team-building activities.
- Provide other administrative support as needed.
- Coordinate program teams work with RD colleagues to ensure quality proposals and timely deliverables.
Support Field Operations
- Maintain master calendar and VIP visit coordination/tracking.
- Support planning process with community partners.
- Manage internal communications with field staff.
- Support improved knowledge management and maintenance of document libraries.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three to four years’ professional experience and demonstrated leadership in strategy and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Highly professional, motivated, energetic and well organized.
- The ability to work independently and drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Experience working in a campaign or initiative a plus.
