Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) is currently seeking an individual well versed in the policy and legislative arena to serve as Vice President of Public Policy, New Hampshire. This full-time senior management position leads the public policy, advocacy, communications, and electoral activities for PPNNE and its affiliated entities in New Hampshire.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing a strategic public affairs agenda aligned with PPNNE’s values; managing the annual work plan for NH’s Public Affairs department; identifying and designing policy, regulatory and legal strategies for issues impacting PPNNE’s health care and education services; overseeing the expansion and utilization of the activist and supporter leadership network; directing the work of the PP New Hampshire Action Fund (PPNHAF) and state PAC; serving as a senior spokesperson and media liaison for PPNNE , PPNHAF and PAC; and developing positive partnerships with outside constituencies including health care industry leaders.
- Ten or more years’ relevant public policy experience in a non-profit/issue advocacy setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired; excellent writing and communication skills; knowledge of the legislative process and experience working with elected officials and state administrative agencies; demonstrated ability to develop and manage issue and electoral campaigns involving advocacy, communications and grassroots components; excellent communication skills, media relations and the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of individuals and constituencies in and outside of PPNNE.
