Director, Prematurity Campaign Collaborative

This position will direct MOD’s efforts to engage partners and build a national movement to achieve equity and reduce preterm birth. The Director will build strong relationships with a broad range of partners to leverage their expertise, experience, and resources. The Director will work with leaders across other parts of the foundation to align MOD efforts to engage partners in our work to achieve equity and reduce preterm birth.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Working closely with the leadership of the Office of Mission Impact, Marketing and Communications, and Revenue Development, set the strategic direction of the Prematurity Campaign Collaborative. Build strong relationships with existing and potential partners in the Prematurity Campaign Collaborative to strengthen MOD’s efforts to achieve equity and reduce preterm birth. Ensure effective management of the Prematurity Campaign Collaborative, including timely development of agendas, slides, talking points, and robust support of volunteer leaders in the Collaborative (such as Steering Committee members and Workgroup co-chairs). Lead internal team meetings to ensure alignment and effective processes to keep the Collaborative running smoothly. Work closely with the National Director of the Prematurity Campaign and the Marketing and Communications department to disseminate news and information about the Collaborative to existing and potential supporters and partners. Work with colleagues in the Perinatal Data Center to develop and implement performance measurement and evaluation strategies. Work with colleagues in the Revenue Development department to seek and manage external funding for the Collaborative.
Educational Background: 
Master's degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 8 to 10 years experience
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment 
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong leadership/management skills with the ability to motivate staff and lead change 
  • Proven track record managing programs and budgets 
  • Expertise in maternal and child health
  • Expertise in health equity 
  • Experience managing collaborative projects 
  • Excellent presentation skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Proven track record building diverse, collaborative relationships
  • Organizational skills; interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects; ability to meet deadline; integrity and accountability.
