To perform a variety of accounting functions related to the daily operations of the Finance Department and to assist with the month end and year end closing activities.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Enter and post daily lockbox and in-house deposits.
- Gift Annuity Filings, processes surveys, state and charity registrations.
- Research and correct accounting errors or discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting as needed.
- Reviews lease obligations and maintain Loan Accounts.
- Reviews and maintain Inventory Accounts, Construction in Progress Accounts, Investment Accounts.
- Reviews and maintain Fixed Asset Accounts and associated depreciation schedules.
- Review and maintain Prepaid Expense accounts.
- Prepares analytics on credit card processing for internal control purposes.
- Review and approve expense reports per FA Travel and Entertainment Policy; and expense report analytics.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Analyze and record donated gift and services.
- Reconcile Gift Annuity Obligations.
- Reconcile various balance sheet accounts as assigned.
- Analyze and prepare journal entries for month end expenses and accruals.
Educational Background:
BA/BS Major in Accounting/Finance or related work experience.
Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of experience of full time accounting experience preferred.
- Must be detail oriented, have excellent problem solving capabilities, excellent analytical skills, with organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task with a strong sense of meeting deadlines and follow-up.
- High degree of professionalism, flexibility and initiative.
- Must have the ability to work on many projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience ERP applications a plus.
