To provide leadership in the management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Christian Discipleship Project (CD Project). Ensure that all project activities achieve intended results and have an impact on the children targeted by the project, leading them to have a stronger Christian faith. Ensure that project interventions will ultimately contribute to a sustainable transformational development in their respective communities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Plan, implement and coordinate the CD project based on the agreed implementation plan
  • Monitor project activities, outputs and outcomes and visit project sites on a regular basis to assess progress and address issues and gaps
  • Ensures that the project is managed properly and meets outlined objectives, results and impact
  • Identifies partners who will support WV in implementing the project.
  • Develops strong relationships with community partners, schools, religious and faith leaders and other stakeholders. This includes identifying areas of potential collaboration, research and learning
  • Initiates creative and relevant initiatives that will contribute to the success of the project.
  • Ensures that Christian Discipleship is a foundational part of the project.
  • Provide coordination with APs and district level faith based organisations.
  • Provides regular reporting eports to the Support Office funding the project, according to the reporting schedule.
  • Oversee and manage the CD project budget, approve payments and requisitions and ensure that AP;s implementing activities adhere to their operational budgetary limits
  • Ensure that documentation of key project events is done and publications circulated to relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate the training of field staff and faith based organisations on sustainable CD practices relevant to the success of CD initiatives for the target communities.
  • Ensure that appropriate training materials are designed and produced for use by the local community in the CD project.
Educational Background: 
First Degree in Social Science or Bachelor’s Degree in Theology/Christian Education and/or equivalent experience in handling organized Christian Education programs.
Skills/Experience: 

The following competency may be acquired through a combination of personal commitment, formal schooling, education, prior experience:

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in leading and managing direct reports and in managing projects
  • Proven experience in project management is a must. Sound networking and relationship building skills. Preferred if prior experience in Christian education, Spiritual nurture. Good understanding of transformational development is critical for this position. Strength in communicating effectively with others in both oral and written form is highly required/imperative.
  • Clean Class 4 drivers license a must
