Habitat for Humanity International, Inc. (HFHI) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Vice President, Volunteer and Institutional Engagement (VIE). Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, this position is a member of HFHI’s Senior Leadership Team supporting and leading a team of professionals providing expertise in the field of volunteerism and volunteer programming to our network 1,300 U.S. based Habitat for Humanity affiliates and 70 overseas national organizations. This position will be based at our administrative headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead a high-performing team of program leaders to the next level by focusing on systems/process improvements, consistent service delivery, and strategic allocation of resources towards meeting Habitat for Humanity’s 2020 strategic goals, focusing on global volunteerism and strategy.
  • Enhance existing cross-cutting efforts and drive collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee provision of technical expertise in the areas of volunteerism and constituent engagement while providing support to country national offices and U.S. affiliates within the Habitat network as well as regional Habitat offices.
  • Identify and lead opportunities to develop and implement innovative strategies to engage volunteers of all ages with a special emphasis on youth.
  • Play a lead role in the execution of HFHI’s strategic initiatives and VIE divisional objectives.
  • Serve as the leading voice for global volunteerism and its impact on development.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 10+ including leadership in US and international volunteer programming & strategy development.
  • A strong customer/constituent focus.
  • An understanding of organizational change management and experience with significant change initiatives.
  • An understanding of volunteer management technologies and IT trends pertaining to volunteerism.
  • Global team management skills and experience.
  • Metrics driven, with a focus on strategy development and results.
  • Collaborative leadership style.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in related field.
  • Housing and shelter background.
  • Volunteer management experience outside the US.
