The goal of this position is to empower development staff and volunteers through equipping them with necessary tools and systems to grow the respective development event, program or campaign including but not limited to The Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day and Reason To Hope. An essential task in this position will be data analysis across various donor databases The Development Specialist is an essential team member that supports the chapter Development Staff by building constituents' capacity to engage and fundraise more through coaching and by meeting their immediate needs, by supporting the Chapter's relationship with sponsors, and by organizing the volunteer process through essential and timely communication. In addition, this position will be the backbone of data entry, retrieval and analysis for the department. - Build relationships and meet constituents' immediate and daily needs including questions about the website and event, team growth, and essential fundraising activities.
- Be familiar with fundraising and event logistics in order to serve as a fundraising coach and communicate clearly and effectively with Team Captains.
- Use mail merging skills to organize and mail all Team Captain Kits on a timely basis.
- Assist with organizing the volunteer process on behalf of event staff and event volunteer committees by using tools to organize, track and deliver information to all who need it.
- In addition, manage volunteer questionnaires and send logistic email communications to all event day volunteers and assist with leading volunteer management in conjunction with lead volunteers.
- Support Chapter relationships with sponsors through timely communication regarding sponsorship benefits and event information in conjunction with the Corporate Relations Director. Assist with Wrap Around Events which includes mailings, email communications and event packing and set up.
- Support the VP of Development in Annual Appeals, other development campaigns.
- Support the development staff in all aspects of strategic plan tracking, data tracking, reporting and data entry.
- Oversight of the memorial process.
- 24 hours per week
- Strong Proficiency with various software programs, especially Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Publisher) and Google Drive
- Experience learning, managing, and modifying database systems to include data manipulation and report generation.
- Ability to multi-task and displays strong attention to details Ability to plan and work independently.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Working as a member of a team, the Development Specialist is an organized, self-motivated person who will provide support to chapter development staff and volunteers.
- Candidate must be able to exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give careful attention to details.
- Be able to work under stress and be flexible where there are high expectations for meeting tight deadlines and for producing work that is accurate.
- Willingness to "pitch in" to get the job done when required.
- Must develop working knowledge about Alzheimer's disease and its impact on families and caregivers.
