Leads the delivery of cancer control programs and services based on the Society’s program of work, with a strong emphasis on transportation and lodging, for a significant geography within the Region. Accountable for significant mission targets. Responsible for providing quality customer service through strong collaboration with internal and external constituents and partners. Ensures goal achievement through effective leadership and management of a small team of diverse staff and the engagement of ACS volunteers.
- Oversees execution and achievement of cancer control program/service goals and objectives to deliver on enterprise mission strategies.
- Establishes, manages and monitors the delivery of access to care programs including Road to Recovery, other transportation programs and lodging partnerships for an assigned geography.
- Establishes, manages, and monitors delivery of volunteer-based patient service programs including Reach to Recovery, Look Good Feel Better and other emotional support programs for an assigned geography.
- Achieves high quality programs; delivering against mission strategies while meeting or exceeding ACS customer promises.
- Manages, coaches, develops and trains a team of mission delivery staff to meet Region goals; Ensures that responsibilities and accountabilities of all direct reports are well-defined.
- Collaborates with Cancer Control, Community Development, Distinguished Partners, Communications & Marketing, Business Planning & Operations, and ACS CAN leaders to increase the Society’s community presence and mission impact through cancer control program delivery.
- Engages and mobilizes volunteers in program delivery.
- Collaborates with Cancer Control staff to communicate and demonstrate the impact of programs and services to a variety of external partners; ensures mission delivery staff coordinate with health systems managers to deliver high quality customer service to health systems and their patients.
- Assesses risks, issues, and opportunities to identify viable, innovative solutions; collaborates with peers to identify and leverage best practices.
- Develops and leverages relationships within and across constituencies, identifying opportunities to secure funding for priority cancer control programs and services
- Monitors customer satisfaction of cancer control programs to maximize impact and increase relevancy in communities
- Collaborates directly with support and fulfillment teams in Regions and Global Headquarters to ensure success of programs and activities.
- Oversees the identification new community resources to enhance referrals.
- Monitors progress against objectives; adjusts plans and manages contingency efforts and resources as required.
- Supports Senior Director, Mission Delivery to ensure mission, top line and bottom line goals are reached as well as compliance with enterprise policies
- Collaborates with Community Development, Distinguished Partners and ACS CAN staff to maximize engagement in ACS activities, events, grant opportunities and fundraising efforts within the market.
- Two to three years of experience in program and/or team management. Experience in community health and community mobilization a plus.
