We currently have an excellent job opportunity for an enthusiastic fundraising/sales professional to fill a FUNDRAISING (SALES) DIRECTOR, EDUCATION MARKET POSITION IN SACRAMENTO

Areas of Responsibility: 

As the Director you are responsible for implementing the AHA educational fundraising programs to elementary, middle and high schools in the Greater Sacramento territory including Stockton, Modesto and Northern Nevada. Utilizing proven sales techniques you acquire new and maintain existing schools accounts in order to achieve a FUNDRAISING GOAL OF $509,000 gross. You’re responsible for achieving income and school recruitment goals and will be out in your territory about 75%+ of your time (approximately 40 FTF meetings weekly).

Working DIRECTLY WITH 190 SCHOOL ACCOUNTS , both existing and new, you coach, train and motivate school based volunteers to participate in Jump Rope For Heart, Hoops For Heart and Red Out events, all major fundraising initiatives for the AHA. You also look for opportunities to secure local sponsorship. Building strong relationships with volunteers, including teachers, principals, school districts and Parent Teacher Associations, through outstanding customer service is a key requirement for success.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ YEARS OUTSIDE SALES OR FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE, with proven track record in achieving goals
  • Strong COLD-CALLING, RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS
  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer coaching and management
  • PROFICIENCY IN MICROSOFT APPLICATIONS and ability to maintain a high volume of account data in a timely and accurate manner
  • Highly effective organizational, multitasking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently during irregular work hours
  • WILLING AND ABLE TO TRAVEL EXTENSIVELY WITHIN GIVEN TERRITORY INCLUDING OVERNIGHTMust have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and personal vehicle or other reasonable form of transportation
  • Able to lift 15-20 pounds to transport supplies and materials
  • Experience in K-12 school sales or fundraising, educational sales
  • Territory sales management
