Program Assistant, AE E-Teacher Program

FHI 360 designs and implements academic, professional, cultural, and youth exchange programs for students and emerging leaders around the world.  We are seeking a Program Assistant to support the American English (AE) E-Teacher program.  The AE E-Teacher program offers professional development opportunities to foreign English teaching professionals through high-quality virtual exchange components, including online courses, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), and a Community of Practice (CoP).  This project is funded by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of English Language Programs (ECA/A/L). 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide basic technical support related to the program’s nomination/registration system, learning management system (LMS) and Community of Practice.
  • Liaise with participants, nominating posts and course providers to support participant success and retention.
  • Assist with the management of program communications, and creating and deploying surveys.
  • Maintain physical and electronic records, including updating the nomination/registration portal according to standard operating procedures.
  • Provide administrative support such as creating purchase requisitions, tracking purchase orders, processing payment requests, and assisting with sub-award and consultant agreement documentation.
  • Other projects, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1 year of experience in an office setting preferred.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of programs and administrative support experience.
  • Strong computer skills including use of databases, survey software, word processing software, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Google (docs, sheets, forms, etc.). 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large amounts of information.
  • Proven organizational skills; ability to work independently as well as a team, take initiative, meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and solve problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated professionalism in written correspondence (applicants must submit a cover letter).
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint preferred.
  • Experience with technical platforms including learning management systems such as Canvas and/or content management systems such as Drupal preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language as appropriate.
  • Prior experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO) preferred.
