Provides leadership and support assessing chapter performance and implementing action plans to address improvement. Interfaces with chapters to provide on-site intervention and management of chapter operations, protecting the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s assets, including its registered marks via reconstitution of mergers of chapters, territory realignments and chapter closures.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides leadership support to an assigned caseload of chapters by serving as an internal consultant in all areas of governance and management.
  • Executes components of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s strategic plan by monitoring, tracking and analyzing chapter performance reports.
  • Collaborates with Compliance Officers to ensure chapters adherence to standards, policies, rules, and brand protection; develops action plans to address identified areas of improvement or growth.
  • Provides on-site customized intervention to targeted chapters by developing short and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives for improved service and operations.
  • Acts as a liaison between the National Office, departments, and Chapters.
  • Assists in the search for Chapter CEOs and/or other staff additions; facilitates on-boarding.
  • Performs other job related duties, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, or related field required.
Skills/Experience: 

Knowledge and Abilities:

  •  Demonstrated active hands-on experience in fund-raising, program delivery, volunteer recruitment, training of Boards and staff, and community development.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills to enhance rapport working with Chapter CEOs, staff and boards.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with strong ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to lead, influence and negotiate.

Qualifications:

  •  5 – 7 years of experience in non-profit organization/environment required.
  • Prior experience in chapter leadership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required, including demonstrated expertise in Word and Excel.

  •  Work in an office environment.
  • Travel required.
  • May require work outside a traditional Monday – Friday work week, and outside normal business hours.
