The American Heart Association (AHA) has an exciting job opportunity for an experienced fundraising or sales profession as DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, HEART WALK in the NORTH BAY DIVISION (BASED IN SANTA ROSA) . As the Director, you will work with volunteers and staff in the overall planning, management and implementation of the Heart Walk campaign, including a revenue goal of $350,000 net.
Areas of Responsibility:
- With a focus on BUSINESS TO BUSINESS (B2B) RELATIONSHIPS , manages current Heart Walk companies, recruits new companies, and secures CASH SPONSORSHIP to reach the overall fundraising goal for the Heart Walk campaign.
- Develops strategic plans with each company based on COMPANY TEAM PARTICIPATION , through ongoing communication and management of Company Leaders, Team Captains and Walkers, along with year round cultivation
- Manages assigned COMMUNITY TEAMS participating in the Heart Walk by establishing goals and developing action plans to achieve those goals
- Oversees EVENT EXECUTION
- Adheres to established Best Practices, benchmarks and timelines and conducts active community networking and outreach through 10+ face to face meetings on weekly basis with current and prospective donors, volunteers and sponsors
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years successful experience in fundraising, sales or marketing
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment, training, and management
- Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
- Self-starter able to work well in a team driven environment
- Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Experience with the American Heart Association or similar nonprofit organization
- Experience in managing and cultivating high level corporate and community leaders
- Securing cash sponsorship
