We have an excellent opportunity for a DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, SOCIAL EVENTS IN OUR CINCINNATI OHIO office. The Director will work collaboratively with the Go Red For Women and Heart Ball Directors with a primary focus on cultivating and stewarding individual giving donors across the market, with a focus on building one-on-one relationships with the Go Red and Heart Ball donor portfolio.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Individual Giving Acquisition and Renewal – cultivate and steward individuals to join the Core Vitae Society at the $5K+ level. The Director will lead the Cor Vitae experience at campaign events and other Cor Vitae events. Assist on other individual giving engagement activities.
  • Individual Giving for Circle of Red and Men Go Red Giving Societies- cultivate and steward individuals to the MGR and COR society at a gift of $2,500. Work closely with the Go Red for Women Senior Director to grow the MGR and COR programs. Lead engagement events.
  • Open Your Heart Campaigns for Go Red for Women & Heart Ball – Lead and execute the plan for individual giving via Open Your Heart Campaigns inside Go Red for Women and Heart Ball. Build strategies around Day of Event giving, recruit matching gifts and drive pre-event giving to maximize OYH success.
  • Young Professional Engagement – Lead the overall market strategy for Young Professional engagement with AHA/ASA in effort to expand the volunteer, revenue and leadership support we have from YPs and Early Researchers across the region.
  • Volunteer Management – Staff partner and manager of individual giving sub-chairs. Work closely with Sub-Committee Chairs to build and align strategy to reach revenue goals, support volunteer outreach efforts and effectively manage volunteer support to the individual campaigns.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least two years of experience with a non-profit organization in a fund raising position, or two years proven success in marketing, sales, event planning, fundraising or new business development.
  • At least two years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation and motivation
  • Proven outside sales experience, business-to-business experience preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in fund raising principles, practices and techniques
  • Ability to recruit, train, counsel, and manage volunteer groups and to develop long range organizational goals and follow through with them
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere, but also to work independently
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and problem solving skills to conflicts
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Applied knowledge and intermediate skills in windows applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training, ability to speak publicly
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends on occasion
