The East Bay Regional Park District (“Park District”) is seeking an exceptional and dynamic leader to serve as the Executive Director of the Regional Parks Foundation (“Foundation”). The Foundation was established as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in 1969 to support the Park District through fundraising to provide universal access, environmental stewardship, educational and recreational programs, and the acquisition of parklands.
The Foundation Executive Director will serve under general direction of the Assistant General Manager, Public Affairs for the Park District and the Regional Parks Foundation Board of Directors. This management professional will oversee and administer the operations and daily activities of the Foundation. The Executive Director is responsible for leading, developing, implementing initiatives, and managing the Foundation as well as overseeing philanthropic opportunities, major donor and donor relations, grants, donations, memberships, events, capital campaigns, endowments, overall fundraising/development, grantmaking, and program initiatives – all in support of the Park District. This role requires an experienced professional who has specific knowledge and/or direct experience with philanthropic fundraising for nonprofit organizations and the ability to oversee all fund development activities, including grant writing, cultivation and stewardship of donors, grantmaking, event planning, and identifying new partnerships and resources.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience in fund development, grants administration, marketing, and public, community, governmental, and/or media relations, including 3 years of experience at the senior management level with direct interaction with a non-profit or government board of directors.
The annual salary range for this position is $143,374 to $182,936 DOQE with a scheduled salary increase of 3% effective April 1, 2023. In addition to base salary, the Park District also offers a generous benefits package including CalPERS Retirement.
