Senior Manager, Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer's

General Summary

This position will manage development and implementation of the Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer's through volunteer recruitment and engagement and corporate development.

Essential Job Functions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing, stewarding and empowering a robust, high-level volunteer committee to successfully organize, plan and implement the Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer's, including securing and engaging corporate partnerships, recruiting, coaching and recognizing participants and teams, and planning and executing event logistics to achieve the Walk's current revenue target of $900,000.
  • Collaborate with volunteer committee and Chapter leadership to craft and execute a strategic stewardship roadmap for Walk to End Alzheimer's event success that includes team recruitment and retention strategies, corporate sponsors, peer Chapter engagement, volunteer committee development, marketing/PR, logistics, timelines and budgets.
  • Actively engage volunteer planning committee and Chapter leadership to deliver outstanding guest experiences for prospects, participants, teams and sponsors at all Walk to End Alzheimer's events, including day-of and pre/post-Walk activities.
  • Collaborate closely with local Chapter leadership and colleagues to identify creative solutions and strategic approaches to successfully engage volunteer committee, recruit prospective teams/walkers, and steward corporate partners throughout year.
  • Develop, engage and maintain year-round community contacts to recruit and cultivate prospects into high level volunteers and corporate sponsors who support Chapter goals related to the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
  • Work with volunteer committee and Chapter leadership to plan and implement year-round participant communications, including social media outreach and pre-and post-event touchpoints to bolster team recruitment, coaching and recognition.
  • Coach volunteer committee to leverage and implement national Walk to End Alzheimer's best practices, standards and guidelines to achieve goals (revenue, walkers, teams).
  • Manage expense budgets with direct accountability for goals set forth in the annual budget.
  • Work with the volunteer planning committee and Chapter leadership to organize and execute outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer's Association mission and services, including community presentations, volunteer events and more.
  • Ensure timely, efficient data entry process and donation processing related to WTEA.
  • Partner with internal team to manage the Indianapolis WTEA website, create content and manage all related set-up and reports, and pro-actively share projections, analysis and insights related to the Walk to End Alzheimer's goals.
  • Partner with the volunteer committee Logistics chair to manage and oversee the day-of Indianapolis WTEA logistics and event day volunteers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote common core education programs in local corporations in the community to generate awareness for our cause; to reach out to others; to give back to the corporate sector; and to open new doors for sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assure compliance with Alzheimer's Association policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Other assignments as requested by the Walk Director or Director of Development.

Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate and coach volunteers in a fundraising or sales and marketing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to form and develop corporate relationships and partnerships
  • Demonstrated success in the development and promotion of fundraising events or similar programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications  (Word, Excel and Power Point)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to set expectations with clarity and manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion
  • Ability to travel throughout the area with some overnight/weekend travel required
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, organize and analyze metrics for growth opportunities
  • Ability to analyze information and make timely, appropriate decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills with visitors, callers and volunteers
  • High level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative

  • Previous experience with Convio and CRM databases preferred
