Position Summary:
HRC seeks a visionary, strategic marketing leader who is passionate about making a major impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is an ideal role for a highly motivated, outcome-oriented marketing professional passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader who can set a vision, foster new thinking, manage change, collaborate seamlessly with a diverse group of stakeholders (both internal and external), and lead and influence others. The Senior Marketing Director will be responsible for budget oversight and management of key agency partnerships. Additionally, they will partner closely with various cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors to drive forward HRC’s initiatives. This position reports directly to the SVP, Communications & Marketing.
Position Responsibilities:
● Manage and develop a growing marketing team of digital, design and video experts as they collaborate across key program areas (foundation, political, development, public awareness, and advocacy) to bring to life key marketing initiatives in service of the HRC’s goals and mission.
● Oversee planning and daily content creation, including design, video, editorial, social influencer strategy, digital, graphic design, publications, advertising, media, integrated marketing and data analytics.
● Assist in the creation and development of the organization’s overall marketing strategy.
● Create and execute prioritization strategies based on existing organizational bandwidth and feedback from your direct reports.
● Lead determination of marketing KPIs, and oversee strategy implementation, project management, tracking, measurement, and debriefs.
● Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or equivalent work experience required; Ten years experience in marketing, social media, design, etc;
● Two to five years director-level management experience
● Previous department-wide budget development and management experience

● Goal-oriented. You set clear timelines and drive projects to completion. You know that delivering on goals and metrics is the key to significantly impacting and growing our programs. And you’re comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
● Possess exceptional writing talent as well as the communications skills necessary to elicit the right information from a variety of sources;
● A strategic marketing expert. You understand digital platforms, how they differ, and how they can be utilized most effectively to reach your strategic goals. Proficiency in working on social platforms (e.g., Facebook and Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube) is required. Familiarity with emerging platforms is a plus.

● Willingness and ability to respond to breaking news, often outside the workday; Ability to travel up to 30% required.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, etc.) and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs and Drive).

All positions at the Human Rights Campaign may require travel on a regular basis or periodically. Where the need arises for business travel, appropriate compensation as outlined by the Fair Labor Standards Act will apply.
